Trigger Points and why Treatment is needed!

Central Nervous System Sensitization Trigger Points

Valerie DeLaune writes about why it is important to treat pain in her 'Trigger Point Therapy for Foot, Ankle, Knee and Leg Pain' book 2010.  She says

"So the longer pain goes untreated, the greater the number of neurons that get involved and more muscles they affect, causing pain in new areas, in turn causing more neurons to get involved-and the bigger the problem becomes, leading to the likelihood that pain will become a chronic problem.  The sooner pain is treated, including addressing the initiating stressors and perpetuating factors, the less likely it will become a permanent problem :with widespread muscle involement and central nervous system changes (DeLaune 2010: 11)".

This is an excellent book explaining trigger points
